Istanbul is situated on the northern shore of the Marmara Sea between the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Istanbul is only city in the world that is located on two continents. Numerous museums, theaters, opera houses and mosques and palaces can be visited. Tourists are strongly advised to visit the fortune-telling cafes, where charming ladies read the future from the coffee grounds.

The second largest of the seven Ionian Islands, Corfu, is often referred to as 'the green island'. Among the attractions of Corfu is the Achilleion, a palace of the Empress Elizabeth of Austria, the old town and the viewing point 'Bella Vista' at Paleokastitsa. In the centre of Corfu is the Panagia Spiliotissa Catherdral and Platiteraklooster.

Izmir is located on the Turkish Aegean coast and is home to around 3 million people. The modern city has plenty of attractions on offer, but is also a good starting point for excursions. Furthermore, Izmir, with its pleasant climate during spring and autumn has become known as a popular seaside resort.
