Arrive in Lima to begin your 8nt escorted tour. You will be met at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
LIMA (B) Your sightseeing tour explores the modern districts of Lima and its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. As you wander the main plaza and Plaza San Martin it is hard not to wonder about its diverse architecture. Your guide will introduce you to the city’s architectural heritage. You then proceed to Santo Domingo Monastery boasting fine carved choir stalls, the oldest of Lima. It was here that San Marcos University, the first in South America, was founded in 1551. Your next stop is at the Larco Herrera Museum. The collection allows the understanding of 3,000 years of the Peruvian pre-Columbian history in an intuitive way. Its masterpieces are considered worldwide icons of pre-Inca art and have been displayed in the world's most renowned museums.

LIMA - CUSCO (B) At the agreed time, you will be met at the lobby of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your next domestic flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the morning at leisure to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Your comprehensive afternoon city tour includes the beautiful Koricancha or Sun Temple, the Cathedral as well as the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, a most remarkable Inca building, the amphitheater of Kenko. This is followed by a visit to Puca Pucara, a strategically located 'red fortress' that dominates the entire area before visiting Tambomachay, with its two distinctive aqueducts that to this day continue to provide clean water to the area.
CUSCO – LIMA - BUENOS AIRES (B) At the agreed time, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Buenos Aires via Lima. (no guide assistance in Lima´s airport) Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY (B,L) Today you will visit the charming community of Chinchero. The village's highlight is definitely the Sunday market that traces back to the Inca time when barter or 'trueque' existed. Today the market, noted for its textiles, takes place in the main square, at the foot of an Inca wall. Chinchero is real hub of activity, vibrant with color and movement which fascinates tourists with its range of handicrafts. You continue to the salt mines of Maras where an intense white shines like snow on a sunny day - an impressive sight for any visitor. Salt was extracted from these mines from Inca times on and the same method has been used ever since. Afterwards you head to Moray. The circular terraces hidden among the hills are similar to a Greek amphitheater. Surrounded by an impressive backdrop of snow covered mountains, Moray was used as an open-air agricultural lab for adapting crops to different environmental conditions. Have lunch in the restaurant "Casa Colonial", located in the heart of Urubamba. Today you will enjoy a meal in an over 200-years-old restored colonial-style mansion with an elegant furnishings and a beautiful view of the main square of Urubamba. Chef René Rodríguez's menu features traditional Peruvian dishes prepared using local organically grown ingredients. This night will overnight at the Sacred Valley to be 30 minutes from the Train Station. Important: Today, you must depart from your hotel with a 5-kilogram carry on only.

SACRED VALLEY – MACHU PICCHU – SACRED VALLEY - CUSCO (B) At the agreed time, transfer to Ollantaytambo Train Station. The train ride takes you through the Sacred Valley of the Incas up to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival a small coach takes you up the steep roads to the entrance of the citadel. For centuries Machu Picchu remained undiscovered by the Spaniards and has only been found in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham. During a guided tour you will experience the uniqueness of the location and the genius that went into its construction, making this Inca site one of the seven new wonders of the world. Return by Vistadome train from Aguas Calientes to Ollanta. Upon arrival in Ollanta, you will be transferred to the hotel in Cusco (2 hours ride approximately)

BUENOS AIRES (B) Today you'll enjoy an exciting half-day sightseeing tour of this impressive city. In the early part of the 20th century, Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world. The grand public buildings of Buenos Aires reflect this opulent era. The so-called 'Paris of South America' combines the atmosphere of a former European town with the features of a Latin American capital. Your guide will pick out some of the city's highlights such as Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Caminito and Recoleta with its cemetery to illustrate the history of Argentina. Moving on to San Telmo, the oldest district in the city, you will walk along ancient cobblestone streets, admiring old colonial houses, churches and famous antique shops and ateliers. You will confirm that no area in the city evokes the old Porteno spirit as the artists' quarter of San Telmo.

BUENOS AIRES (B,L) Private transportation from your hotel to the estancia in Areco and back (with guide). En route enrich your experience by discovering the secrets of family-run silversmith workshop founded in the ’60s by the self-taught Juan Jose Draghi with your visit to the Draghi Museum in San Antonio de Areco. Here you will witness artisans create one-of-a-kind silver items and gain an authentic insight into the Gaucho culture. Mariano Draghi, the son of Juan, will join you in your journey through the museum and take you through the incredible family history behind the first silversmith workshop in Areco. Experience one of the most traditional Argentine estancias - Ombu de Areco, a ranch founded in San Antonio de Areco built in 1880, birthplace of the gaucho tradition. Located only one-hour drive from Buenos Aires the park (10 acres) is home to the great ombú, Argentina’s national tree, where the estancia’s name comes from, a plant that majestically presides over the park. In this full-of-tradition environment, many species of trees, flowers and the lagoons and streams running into the Areco River provide a rich habitat for over 1000 species of Argentina’s birds. Cows and horses grazing are part of the Estancia´s landscape. You arrive in time for a welcoming ‘asado’ a typical Argentine barbeque accompanied by local wines and a horse-whispering demonstration. The Estancia offers multiple activity options on-site, including horseback riding, carriage rides, a swimming pool, a games area. * In summer lunch is served al fresco in the shadow of the great ombú.

The presidential palace Casa Rosada as well as other beautiful 19th-century buildings surround the Plaza de Mayo in downtown Buenos Aires. When you're in town, be sure to shop for high-quality leather, eat out at a parilla, an Argentine steakhouse, and dance the night away to the fiery rhythms of tango!
