Parintins is, with 100,000 inhabitants, the second largest city in the state of Amazonas in Brazil. The city is located on Tupinambarana Island. The 'Amazonian Ox Dance Festival' takes place at the end of June each year and a colorful parade, with costumed dancers, winds through the city.
