Istanbul is situated on the northern shore of the Marmara Sea between the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. Istanbul is only city in the world that is located on two continents. Numerous museums, theaters, opera houses and mosques and palaces can be visited. The Turkish city of Canakkale lies in the Marmara region and has a population of over 100,000. Canakkale has become very famous for its tableware, which is sold throughout the country and abroad. Canakkale is also an important city for Turkey because the local military forces are placed there.

Spetses is an island in Attica, Greece. It is sometimes included as one of the Saronic Islands. There are no cars allowed in the downtown area, only taxis and delivery vehicles. The most common modes of transport are walking, horse-drawn carriages, bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles.

Monemvasia is located on a rock off the coast of Laconia. The Greek town was once a fortress and thus an important base. Settlement on the rocks began in 583 so Monemvasia is very rich in cultural treasures and historic sites.

The small port town has about 300 inhabitants and is the starting point for trips to Olympia. Olympia was the site of the ancient Olympic Games. Impressively, visitors can see remains of the Temple of Zeus, the stadium and the Temple of Hera.
