Saint Maarten is an island in the Caribbean Sea and is named after St. Maarten or Martinus of Tours. The island is divided into a Dutch and a French part. St. Martin, with its melting pot of Caribbean and European influences, is a major attraction for tourists. The capital of the French part is Marigot and the Dutch part is Philipsburg. St. Maarten is ideal for water sports enthusiasts, as it has a beautiful underwater world where you can snorkel and dive.
