The Notre-Dame de Pitié chapel is a sight worth seeing which offers some other benefits - its location. It was built in 1560 on top of a hill from which you can enjoy a wonderous view over the Sanary bay.

Worth seeing are the two churches of San Pietro and San Lorenzo and the fortifications of the town.

Portoferraio is the capital of Elba in the Tuscany region of Italy. Napoleon Bonaparte's winter residence is without doubt the main attraction. The single-storey building with a garden can be visited for a fee.
