Recife is a city in northeastern Brazil, situated right on the Atlantic Ocean. The landscape in and surrounding the city features mountains, stunning beaches as well as oyster and coral reefs. Additionally, rivers, bridges, islets, and peninsulas have shaped and carved the area. Located on its own island neighboring the harbor is the town’s 16th-century historic center, Recife Antigo. Enclosed by reefs, the wildly popular Boa Viagem Beach is just to the south, filled with modern restaurants and hotels.
