Split, with approximately 223,000 inhabitants, is the second largest city in Croatia. The city has been listed as aUNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The Diocletian's Palace, which occupies about half of the city, is one of the main attractions. The landmark of the city is the Riva, where you can take a stroll along the waterfront.

The second largest of the seven Ionian Islands, Corfu, is often referred to as 'the green island'. Among the attractions of Corfu is the Achilleion, a palace of the Empress Elizabeth of Austria, the old town and the viewing point 'Bella Vista' at Paleokastitsa.
