Tokyo is a city on the main Japanese island of Honshu. Around a quarter of the Japanese population live within the Tokyo Metropolis. Sights such as the royal residence of Japan - the Imperial Palace and the record breaking Tokyo Tower are not to be missed!

The main attraction of the island is surfing, with surfers flocking to Kizaki-hama and Aoshima.

The Amani islands are part of the Ryukyu Archipelago and belong to the Kagoshima Prefecture of Japan. Listen to the native folk songs 'shumauta', learn Amani sign language or just lose yourself on a stroll on its beautiful coast.

The city of Nawa is located on the southern part of the Okinawa island and is the capital of the Okinawa perfecture in Japan. It has always been regarded as one of the most important cities in the prefecture and offers some great sights such as the Shuri Castle, the Shikinaen Garden and the Tamaudum Mausoleum.

Ishigaki, the southernmost city in Japan, is in the Okinawa Prefecture and has a population of around 45,000. Gongen Do, a 250 year old shrine, is worth a visit, along with the neighbouring Buddhist temple.

Heping Island, connected to the city by bridge, is the location of the fish market which offers the freshest local seafood. Of historical interest is the Ershawan Fort, a chinese built fortification.

Nagasaki is located on the third-largest Japanese island of Kyushu on the south-west coast. The city became well known in 1945 when it suffered a nuclear bombing. The city is home to a range of museums, one of which is the atomic bomb museum which commemorates the city's past.
