Grein, the third-oldest town of Mühlviertel, was founded in 1491. Visit the historic theatre that was built in 1791. It is the oldest civic theater in Austria.
Melk lies, with its 5300 inhabitants, on the banks of the Danube and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Benedictine Abbey of Melk is without question the most important sight in Melk. Worth a visit are the historic monuments.
Spitz is a market town in the Krems-Land District of Lower Austria. It is situated on the left bank of the Danube River. The town is famous for the grapes that grow there and the fortress of Hinterhaus.
