Dürnstein, due to its agricultural and architectural merits, is one of the most popular locations in Austria. Local attractions include the Dürnstein, the Steigenberger Avance and the Cellar.
Melk lies, with its 5300 inhabitants, on the banks of the Danube and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Benedictine Abbey of Melk is without question the most important sight in Melk. Worth a visit are the historic monuments.
Engelhartszell lies in the upper Danube valley in the Innviertel. About 57 percent of the municipality is forest, and 28 percent is farmland.
