The Misty Fjords National Monument in southern Alaska has been declared a nature reserve. The granite mountains polished by glaciers as well as the forests and fjords of this area make a visit to this strip of land a unique experience. Many rare animal species are at home here and with a little luck, you may encounter brown bears, wolves, moose, river otters, sea lions and mountain goats, among others. One of the most popular activities here is kayaking. Paddling through the caves and gorges by kayak – simply fantastic! But boat tours and sightseeing flights are also offered here on site.
