Voyager of the Seas - Ship Image

Voyager of the Seas was the first mega ship of its kind. With an ice-skating rink, TV studio, rock-climbing wall, full-size sports court, mini golf course, golf simulator, rollerblading track, and more, Voyager of the Seas made it possible for cruisers to enjoy an exciting vacation without ever leaving the ship. Designed to mirror an upscale mall, the Royal Promenade holds shops, cafes, and even a Mardi Gras parade.

At its launch in 1999, it was the largest cruise ship in the world. It was also the first to incorporate many nearly standard Royal Caribbean features, including the now ubiquitous Royal Caribbean rock-climbing wall.

At 139,000 tons and 1020 feet, Voyager of the Seas, part of the the Voyager class, can carry up to 3,114 passengers on each journey to the Eastern Caribbean and Western Mediterranean.

Voyager of the Seas travel tips

Voyager of the Seas Recreation

Voyager of the Seas was the first mega ship of its kind. With an ice-skating rink, TV studio, rock-climbing wall, full-size sports court, mini golf course, golf simulator, rollerblading track, and more, Voyager of the Seas made it possible for cruisers to enjoy an exciting vacation without ever leaving the ship. Designed to mirror an upscale mall, the Royal Promenade holds shops, cafes, and even a Mardi Gras parade. With several bars and lounges onboard, there’s something for everyone whether you want an intimate pre-dinner cocktail at the Champagne Bar or a fun night of live piano music in the Schooner Bar. During the day, the ship is bustling with bingo, line dancing, educational seminars, rock-climbing contests, crafts, and even matinees in the movie theater. In the evening passengers are thrilled with an onboard ice skating show and Broadway-style productions. The ship’s Casino Royale offers 300 slots and a variety of card tables.

If you’re looking for a day at the pool, Royal Caribbean does not disappoint. Voyager of the Seas has three pools and six whirlpools, including a relaxing adults-only swimming pool. You can even stay fit in the ship’s oceanview gym with fitness equipment, group classes, and a jogging track. Spa treatments are available in the full service salon and spa, which features a hydrotherapy pool.

Voyagers of the Seas doesn’t leave kids and teens out of the fun. Separate youth facilities offer a cyber cafe, rock climbing, video games, a video arcade, and many age-appropriate group activities throughout the cruise, as well as the teen club Optix. The kids-only splash pool and waterslide give kids a place to play outside without interfering with the peaceful environment at the main pool.

Voyager of the Seas Food

The main dining room onboard Voyager of the Seas is the place to go for traditional meals. Adorned with a crystal chandelier and a grand entrance complete with an elegant staircase, meals in the Voyagers of the Seas dining room are anything but ordinary. The Windjammer Cafe offers a more casual environment with no reservations, buffet service, and panoramic views of the scenery outside the ship.

In the Cafe Promenades you can order a quick continental breakfast as well as sandwiches and pizza. For an extra fee, passengers can enjoy specialty-dining experiences at the upscale Portofino’s Italian Restaurant or the laid back and fun Johnny Rocket’s. Room service is also available 24 hours a day.

Suites and Staterooms

Royal Caribbean staterooms feature a wide range of comfort and amenities standard in every cabin class, including inside cabins, promenade-view, oceanview, balcony, and suites. Two beds convert to a queen-size bed for your comfort.
