Day 2 - 5

On arrival into Kota Kinabalu airport, you will be met by an English-speaking assistant and transferred to your hotel for check-in. No meals, Overnight stay in a hotel, This morning, transfer to the Poring Hot Springs, stopping en-route at Nabalu village to taste the local fruits and shop for local handicrafts. Observe the wildlife on the canopy walkway and take a dip in one of the soothing, hot mineral springs set in the beautifully landscaped gardens. Afterwards, proceed to Kinabalu National Park to explore the mountain gardens with your guide, home to many species of orchids, pitcher plants, birds, insects and butterflies. Return to Kota Kinabalu in the late afternoon before heading to a local restaurant to enjoy some traditional Malay dishes for dinner. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included, Today enjoy a half-day tour of Kota Kinabalu. Begin by visiting Yayasan Sabah (Sabah Foundation) building, one of the few buildings in the world to utilize a single column structure. Next, head to Phu Thou Se Chinese Temple, the Sabah State Mosque and the Sabah Museum, home to fine exhibits that chronicle Sabah's fascinating historical past and rich cultural heritage. Later, return to your hotel for an evening at leisure. Breakfast and Lunch included, Early this morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Sandakan. On arrival, head to the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary where captive orangutans are reintroduced into the wild. You will be able to observe them at their feeding stations in the rainforest and at the nursery (if open). Next, proceed to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC). This centre rescues captured sun bears and is involved in sun bear conservation, welfare rehabilitation and education. Over 30 sun bears live at the centre in the bear house and outdoor enclosures. Afterwards, depart Sepilok and proceed to the boat jetty in Sandakan. You will then enjoy an hour boat cruise up the Lower Kinabatangan River, passing pristine mangrove forests and searching for wildlife. Arrive at Abai Jungle Lodge and have lunch. Enjoy some free time before embarking on another cruise in search of proboscis monkeys, birds, reptiles and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, go on a guided night walk around the Lodge’s nature boardwalk and search for insects, birds and other wildlife. Please note: You will need to prepare a small bag for the next three-nights. Your main luggage will be stored at the hotel in Kota Kinabalu. Day 5 - 8

Overnight stay in a hotel, Early this morning, embark on another boat trip for bird watching and wildlife viewing at the nearby Pitas Lake before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards, cruise upriver to Sukau and check- in to your lodge on arrival. Enjoy lunch before embarking on a river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Menanggul River in search of proboscis monkeys, birds and other wildlife before. Return to the lodge in time for dinner this evening. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included, Early this morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Sandakan. Explore this fascinating cave, home to millions of swiftlets and bats, before returning the the lodge for dinner. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included, After breakfast, depart the lodge and transfer to Sandakan by boat. On arrival, enjoy lunch before transferring to the airport for your flight back to Kota Kinabalu). On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.
