Heading to Beijing’s symbolic heart, stroll across Tiananmen Square and into the sprawling magnificence of the Forbidden City. Entering through the Gate of Supreme Harmony, you will find a complex full of imperial riches. Next, soak up the harmonious ambience of the Temple of Heaven, an orderly oasis in bustling urban landscape, before viewing an inspiring Chinese acrobatic show. This evening, dine on delicious Peking Duck, a local Beijing speciality.

This morning is dedicated to China’s most iconic sight – the Great Wall. Taking a walk on the Mutianyu section of this incredible structure is the best way to appreciate both the sheer magnificence of the wall itself and the dramatic scenery that it crosses. In the afternoon, stop off at the Jade Factory, The Sacred Way, and Ming Tombs, before enjoying an acrobatic show in the evening.

Today, be met by an English-speaking assistant and transfer to Beijing train station and take the bullet train to Xian. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

After their fortuitous discovery in the 1970s, the Terracotta Army of China’s first Emperor Qin Shi Huang has intrigued visitors ever since. Spend the morning viewing the enigmatic ranks of life-sized warriors. Visit the Xian Arts and Ceramics Exhibition too see the craftsmen who recreate Terracotta Warriors in the style of their ancient counterparts. Watch the skilled production process and buy a souvenir warrior to take home. Afterwards, take a walk on the beautifully preserved 14th Century Ancient City Walls and stroll around the atmospheric alleys of the Muslim Quarter, which are lined with Islamic food stalls. This evening, enjoy a dumpling demonstration followed by a dumpling banquet dinner, as well as a fascinating Tang Dynasty Show.

A visit here allows you to see and learn about China’s celebrated bears up close in surroundings that mirror their natural habitat. A look around the informative museum gives an overview of the reserve’s breeding programme. Afterwards, transfer to Chongqing to embark your Yangtze River Cruise vessel for an incredible three-night journey

After disembarking the Yangtze River Cruise in Yichang, transfer to the train station for a bullet train to Shanghai. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay.

Admire the magnificent colonial architecture with a stroll along the Bund before following the age-old silk production process at the Silk Factory, from the cultivation of silkworms up to creating the final piece. This evening, view the city from the Huangpu River on a panoramic cruise, giving you a chance to see the city lit up at night. Afterwards, enjoy a traditional Shanghainese meal.
