The town was established in 1887 after the original town was almost completely burnt down and the current town was built in its place. Luleå is the location of Gammelstad, the old town centre, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sundsvall is a town in central Sweden. It lies at the mouths of rivers Ljungan and Indalsälven. In July the town hosts one of the biggest street festivals in the country - the Gatufesten festival that attracts up to 180,000 visitors.
